Harvest best costume

The winners of the best costume............

Final Plover result at the Harvest

Plovers Foxy, JP, Lulu and the Pres could not quite pull out a win in the final of the second event. It was a hard fought game and came down to last rock.

More importantly they did win the prize for best team costume on Saturday night. The theme was "Legends of Rock" so being the outside-the-box thinkers they came as Mt. Rushmore. Yep, complete with rock colored wigs, a complete granite casing and trees strategically placed to cover the beer. They posed for many pictures and will have those soon to post.

Plover Plummage

Sally plover in full plummage. Hopefully this is a temporary thing. If not her sales call with her President on Tuesday will be interesting.

Plovers win

Well the Plovers won a game today. They are on Saturday at 4:30. That means an early cocktail party at the hotel were everyone is staying. Lots of food and a few drinks.

Picture of Sally plover to be posted next.

Plovers build a nest

The busy little shore birds lost their first game. So, they returned to the warm room and built a nest. You can see plover JP here as he is doing the nest dance. In the background is bird watcher Jay. Plovers back on the ice again Friday night.

Plovers on the road again

A group of Plovers will be migrating to Paoli, PA for the Philadelphia curling club and the Harvest bonspiel.

Check back later for all the details as this group of shore birds attempts to wade through all the local pubs. Watch out for that undertow from the fourth beer!

Founder's aftermath

Well, we made it to Sunday. But couldn't make it to a final. Had a draw to the four foot on my last shot to win and was a tad heavy. Oh well.

The Pres and Foxy were in the first event final. Will have to bug her about what happened.

Now onto the good stuff.

The Plover girls went to the "So you think you can dance" thingy on Thursday. They went to Newark a little early for dinner which was a little late as they got lost. They had fun at the concert and were dancing as they came off the train.

Friday night at the club was pretty subdued. Although JP did make a drunken trip to the attic to power up the disco ball. At least if he had fallen off the ladder it probably would not have hurt too much.

And speaking of hurting. The LBI Margaritas whipped up a batch on Saturday night for all to consume. Some consumed more than others and I heard that there were some hurting puppies late that night. Given this, I think Andy from Pittsburgh may have been partaking as well.

The new guys from Columbus curling club learned all about Canadian dice. There was a little poker played. And DC will be happy to hear that the karaoke machine broke so there was no late night howling.

All in all a lot of fun.

Plovers on the road

Sally Plover and me are off to Plainfield this weekend to battle for the Golden Shovel in the Founder's bonspiel. Playing under the LBI banner with Lulu and JP. Lots of other plovers will be there as well. Need to hit them up for some money as the GNCC dues bill came in.

Before the bonspiel starts, Sally, Lulu and the Pres are off to the Prudential Center in Newark. They are going to the "So you think you can dance" tour. Click on the link to see some of their signature moves.

Sally already has a signature curling move. It is the one where she yells out "Oh Jesus" half way through the slide, then falls over and makes the shot. It is quite the sight to see.
